Red Wine La Belle Marguerite Malbec Reserva

From vines planted in 1915, La Belle Marguerite Malbec Reserva 2022 is a deep, characterful red that speaks of Medrano’s old vineyards.  The fruit comes from Finca Medrano at 720 m, where low yields of 6,500 kg/ha and a loamy sandy soil give small, concentrated grapes that are fermented in concrete vats and macerated for twelve days before spontaneous malolactic fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels. In the glass it shows an intense violet color with red flashes and a complex nose of ripe red fruits, thyme and jarilla, overlaid with tobacco and subtle toast from the barrel. The palate opens with a juicy, fruity attack, then builds into a powerful but balanced structure, with persistent tannins, fresh acidity and a long, savoury finish that invites slow sipping.  This is a perfect Malbec for grilled steaks, slow‑cooked meats, game and aged cheeses, and it rewards decanting or short‑term cellaring for added complexity.
